Former Doyline man charged with terrorizing ex-wife PDF Print E-mail

A former Doyline resident who was arrested by Bossier City authorities on February 4 for terrorizing his ex-wife will face similar charges in Webster Parish.

David Allen Desadier, 39, who was living in the Lakewood subdivision in Bossier City at the time of his arrest, was arrested Thursday and charged with terrorizing, cyber stalking and improper telephone communication.

Minden’s St. Jude Auction tops all previous years’ totals

Another chapter in a story of hope is in the record books. Minden’s St. Jude Auction topped all records this weekend with a grand total of $881,885, an increase of more than $5,600 over 2009.

Melissa Brown, who co-chaired the auction with Christie Ruple, said neither the economy nor loss of viewers during the Super Bowl kept them from surpassing last year’s total.

Joint state House and Senate Retirement committees have met several times over the past few months to try and solve a problem that has been many years in the making.

Under House Speaker Jim Tucker’s recommendation, a new system of paying retired state workers – teachers, employees and State Police – would change from “defined benefit” plans (DB) to “defined contribution” plans (DC).

Officer cleared of Homer shooting death PDF Print E-mail

After nearly a year-long process into the shooting death of 73-year-old Homer resident Bernard Monroe, two Homer police officers will not be indicted.

Officer Tim Cox shot and killed Monroe Feb. 20, 2009. He and Officer Joey Henry, who was with Cox at the time of the shooting resigned in July 2009.
