All of us grew up with old sayings and old adages. My son found an update on some of these old sayings. Some are my updatings from my years of experiences.

They tell me that it is called "a senior moment" when you can't remember a name or a date or a place. I call it "old-timer's disease", but sometimes it seems that I just remember yesterdays better than my todays. So I'll ask you

One of the books that my son had for required reading at “Ole Miss” was Albion’s Seed, by David Hackett Fischer. This volume comprises a cultural history of the United States, or a history of American folkways, and a discussion of cultural origins.

We lived by the slogan “Use It Up - Wear It Out - Make It Do - or Do Without”. Almost all of us had to do that. We did not feel deprived, but we are a stronger, more reliant generation because of those days.
