This is the second part of my account of how the Christian population of Germany was softened up for a false gospel and eventually seduced by the Nazi party. In 19th-century Germany, Ludwig Feuerbach was what one might call the first modern atheist theologian. This visionary once wrote, "Consciousness of God is human self-consciousness; knowledge of God is human self-knowledge." In other words, he claims that it is God who is made in our image, not the other way around. Of his own German culture, this was surprisingly close to the truth. |

"And when He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, ‘Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.’ And Simon answered and said, ‘Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but at Your bidding I will let down the nets.’" Luke 5:4-5 NASB One trait of the Lord’s disciples is unconditional obedience. A disciple must obediently follow what his Master says to do even if it does not seem to make sense. Simon Peter was a professional fisherman. He and his fellow fishermen had caught no fish all night. Yet, he was willing to obey the Lord’s command. He let down his nets and caught a great number of fish. “Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? From whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn” Matthew 13:24-30. |

This past Sunday my husband and I were sitting at the table after dinner observing some beautiful white fluffy clouds. We began to think of Bible texts that speak of clouds which prompted a study on the subject. I’d like to share that with you. |
