FARMERVILLE—The Glenbrook Apaches ended the regular season tied with the River Oaks Mustangs and were forced to play a one-game playoff on a neutral court to decided the district championship. Friday night, the Apaches and Mustangs met at Union Christian in Farmerville with the district title on the line. VIVIAN — The Lakeside Warriors dropped into third place in the District 1-2A race after a 66-58 loss to North Caddo on Friday night. Technically the Warriors are tied for second place with the Rebels, but North Caddo owns the tie-breaker over Lakeside. Be first to comment this article |

Trailing 23-16 after three quarters, Airline’s Lady Vikings did all of the scoring in the fourth quarter for a come-from-behind 25-23 victory to move into a second-place tie with the Lady Jackets in District 1-5A girls’ basketball. Maddy Scheppers scored 10 points and Breuna Douglas tossed in seven for Airline, now 21-11 for the season, and both also turned in great defensive performances. Be first to comment this article |

Four Northwestern State athletes placed second in the Texas Tech Open indoor track and field meet at Lubbock, TX., Saturday. In women’s events, Trecey New was second in the shot put with 51-0, Andrea Warren in the 800 with 2:15.36 and Jessica Turk in the long jump with 18-8.
