Murell and Bonnie Brown of Marshall, Texas will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Friday, February 5, 2010. They were married on this date in 1960 in Pineville, La. They lived in Minden for the first four and one-half years of their marriage before moving to Shreveport in 1964. In 1989, they moved to Marshall, Texas where they currently reside. Since moving to Louisiana, I have become an LSU and Saints fan EXCEPT if it is Texas U. or the Cowboys. This weekend is the BIG Super Bowl Football Game and you know I will be on the TV sideline rooting for the Saints along with my sister-in-law, Ava McWhorter and Mac. Ava is a huge Saints fan. When there is a Saints game, she wears her Saints sweatshirt for good luck. I hope she will be wearing it this Sunday. Be first to comment this article |

The third through fifth grade students at Stewart Elementary School recently participated in the Louisiana Young Readers' Choice Award. Each student in grades three through five cast their vote for their favorite book on real voting machines.
