Jennifer Rees Adams and Micah Mason Woodard were united in marriage on Saturday, August 9th, 2008 in the Robb Chapel at The Woodlands United Methodist Church in The Woodlands, Texas. Officiating the evening ceremony was the Reverend Rob Renfroe.  A reception for their guests followed at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott with music provided by Grady Gaines and the Texas Upsetters.  On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a cocktail reception and rehearsal dinner at The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course.

The bride is the daughter of Julie and Donald Adams, Jr. of The Woodlands, Texas.  She is the granddaughter of Mr. Jim Askew and the late Patricia Askew, Mrs. Dorothy Adams and the late Donald Adams.

The groom is the son of Laura and R.E. “Mike” Woodard of Minden.  He is the grandson of Jerry and R.E. “Jack” Woodard of Minden and the late Doris and Jim Mason, formerly of Minden.  Mike Woodard served as his son’s Best Man.  The groomsmen included

Kyle Bruyninckx, Adam Mitchell, Blake Adams, brother of the bride; John Mitchell, Jesse McCormick, Clay Teague, cousin of the groom; Langford Wedgeworth, and Luke Abrusley.  The ushers included Cole Adams and Turner Adams, brothers of the bride; Russ Carpenter and Tom Terry Milliken.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride chose a couture gown fashioned of silk satin designed by Kenneth Pool.  The strapless ball gown featured a sweetheart neckline with pleated detail and a low dropped waist, both accented with bands of hand beaded crystals. Crystal buttons adorned the train of the gown.  To complement her dress, she wore a sheer veil of silk tulle.She carried a clutch style bouquet full of green Hydrangea, Vandela roses, Porcelina spray roses, Stephanotis accented with pearls and seeded eucalyptus, hand- tied with white satin ribbon.

Jennifer Savoie served as the maid of honor. The bridesmaids included Sarah Thomas, cousin of the bride; Paige Woodard, sister of the groom; Courtney Sistrunk, Dana Tarver, Karen Dominguez, Andrea Hemelt, Cathy Frondorf, and Dori Place.  The attendants wore golden colored brocade, knee-length dresses featuring empire waists with pleated bodices and carried nosegays of green hydrangea, Vandela Roses, and seeded eucalyptus hand-tied with chocolate satin ribbon.

The bride and groom both graduated from Louisiana State University.  Jennifer is employed as a Customer Marketing Manager with Shell Oil in Houston, Texas. Mason is attending the Jones Graduate School of Management, earning his MBA at Rice University in Houston. The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Punta Mita, Mexico and reside in Houston, Texas.
