Minden Continentals top Nationals for host spot

The District VI Pitching Machine Tournament finished up play Sunday with Bossier beating the Shrevport Nationals, 17-8. Both teams will advance to the state playoffs.

The two Minden teams played to see which team would be the host team in the Pitching Machine World Series that will be played at the Minden Rec in July, and the Minden Continentals beat the Nationals, 14-1.

Sunday Games

Championship Game Bossier 17, Shreveport Nationals 8

Caleb Reese doubled and homered to lead Bossier. Bryson Carnell had three hits and Noah Blair, Eric Brown, Harrison Tauzen, Amani Larry and Derrious Bradford all had two hits. Tyler Hilton, Cole Horton, Garrett Hable, Turner Toms and Peyton Lewis added base hits.

Christopher Robinson had three hits to lead Shreveport. Kody Fiebel and Cole Wilson had two hits and Charlie Barham, Nicholas Bedsole, Cade Hart, Kaleb Dean and Ryan Embry all added base hits.

Third/Fourth Place Game Nola Nationals 15, Nola Americans 2

Cullen Duplantis, Hayden Lindsey, Sam Modisette and Wyatt Fain all had two hits to lea dthe Nationals. Gunner maxwell, Cameron Carraway, Brett Vollmer, Eric Alford, Sam Plants and Tyler Davis all singled.

A.J. Heard singled twice to lead the Americans. Jay Buggs and Rey Roberson both singled.

Minden Continentals 14, Minden Nationals 1

Trevor Mclean had two singles and a home run and Hunter Wilkes singled, tripled and homered to lead the Continentals. Daniel Miller, Johnny Law Flournoy and Rodney Johnson all had two hits and Chance Frizzell, Austin King, Cade Clemens, Jeffrey Melton, peyton Fletcher and Haynes Mandino all added base hits.

Peter Howard, Jamerea Lewis, Jake Kingery and Luke Price all had singles for the Nationals.

Saturday’s Games

Minden Continentals 14, Ruston 4

Trevor McLean led Minden with two doubles and a single. Hunter Wilkes tripled and Haynes Mandino singled and doubled. Chance Frizzell, Jeffrey melton and Wesley Dennis added singles.

Alex Harris and Gabe Pyles both had two hits to lead Ruston. Garrett Madden, Brennan Hall, Luke Higgenbotham, Pearce Simmons and Collin Hill all added base hits.

Haughton 21, Minden Continentals 4

Kyle Roberts, Bryson Worley, Caden Holloway and Lake Lowery all had three hits to lead Haughton. Kyelor Coburn, Kobe Tachnor, Dylan Meche and Nick Hackman all had two hits. Jerry lee Brandon, C.J. McWilliams, and Cason Green all added base hits.

Jeffrey Melton had two hits and Wesley Dennis tripled to lead Minden. Johnny Law Flournoy, Rodney Johnson, Chance Frizzell, Peyton Fletcher and Austin King all added base hits.

Springhill 14, Minden Nationals 0

Tyrell Markray, Ethan martin, Cameron Tyson and Akeli Ford all had two hits to lead Springhill. Zavier Cooper and Dean Morgan added base hits.

Mason Sparks doubled to lead Minden. Garrett Hall, Ziyon Crawford, Jamerea Lewis, Jake Kingery and Will Martin all added base hits.

Minden Nationals 10, Vivian 2

Luke Price doubled twice to lead Minden. Peter Howard, Garrett Hall and Mason Sparks added base hits.

Colby Wilson singled twice to lead Vivian. Blakely Welch doubled and Adam Terry, Nathan Parker and Asia Brown all singled.

Haughton 16, Springhill 7

C.J. McWilliams tripled and homered to lead Haughton. Jerry Lee and Dylan Meche both tripled and Caden Holloway, Kyelor Coburn, Dustin Barron, lake Lowery and Nick Harmon all had two hits. Kyle Roberts, Caden Shaw and Cason green added singles.

Peyton Haehn and Zavier Cooper both doubled to lead Springhill. Justin Gillis, Ethan Martin, Akeli Ford and Cameron Tyson all singled.

Ruston 10, Springhill 1

Gabe Pyles, Brennan Hall, Hayden Ginn, Luke Higginbotham, Colin Hill and Matthew Skipper all had two hits for Ruston. Garret Madden, Red Johnson, Pearce Simmons and Aaron Hoenke all singled.

Dean Morgan doubled to lead Springhill. D.J. Klick, Zavier Cooper, Justin Gillis, Akeli Ford and Martavious Morris all singled.

Shreveport Americans 14, Springhill 4

Cody Dean singled threee times to lead Shreveport. Fox Locke, Cameron Meeks, Deven Melancon, Joseph Lattier, Marshall McCurdy and Hayden Stregely all added base hits.

Akeli Ford had two hits to lead Springhill. Josh Burris, Cameron Tyson, Martavious Morris, Drew Beare and Terrell Makray all singled.

Friday’s Games

Minden Continentals 22, Union Parish 21

Haynes Mandino had a walk-off double to lead Minden to the win. Rodney Johnson had two doubles and Hunter Wilkes singled and doubled. Trevor McLean, Chance Frizzell and Daniel Miller all had doubles, while Johnny Law Flournoy, Cade Clemmons and and Jeffrey melton all singled.

Landon Carpenterm and Nick albritton both had three hits to lead Union Parish. Jalen Andrews tripled and Chase Simpson doubled.

Shreveport Americans 28, Minden Nationals 3

Fox Locke had three hits to lead Shreveport. Cameron meeks, Ethan patton, Jett King and Logan leone all had two hits.

Garrett Hall, Ziyon Crawford, Jamerea Lewis, Britton Ranger, Peter Howard and Luke price all singled for Minden.
Bossier 31, Springhill 2

Eric Brown had a home run, a triple and two doubles to lead Bossier. Amani Larry doubled and homered and Harrison Tauzen singled, tripled and homered. Caleb Reese had four hits and Turner Toms had three.

D.J. Klick, Cameron Tyson, Akeli Ford and Ethan Martin all singled for Springhill.
