The Bossier Sheriff’s Office arrested eight Bossier City men  on a variety of drug charges.

Donald Ray Stroup, 37, Joshua Heath Collins, 37, James Stacey McDonald, 36, Jason William Bray, 30, Phillip Leonard Penn, Jr., 24, Rodger Dale Murphey, Jr., 27, Stephen Timothy Hand, 28, Marlin William McCrary, 32, all of the 4800 block of Airline Drive, were taken into custody Monday after deputies were called to The Reserve apartments of Bossier City in reference to a complaint about someone smoking marijuana on a balcony. 

When deputies arrived at the apartments, they smelled the odor of marijuana and they saw Stroup smoking the drug in front of a six-year-old female. During a search of Stroup’s apartment, deputies recovered a marijuana blunt, rolling papers, a small baggie of methamphetamine, a clear baggie with two yellow pills identified as the legend drug, Flexirile, six baggies of methamphetamine packaged for resale, a scale, syringes with meth residue, a large, unlabeled bottle with twenty Lorcet pills, a bottle containing the legend drug, Robaxin, three bottles of liquid steroids with syringes and a meth smoking device.

Stroup was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor.  Collins was charged with possession of meth, possession of a legend drug, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McDonald was charged with possession with intent to distribute meth, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Bray was charged with possession with intent to distribute Lorcet, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Penn was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Murphey was charged with possession of a legend drug, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Hand was charged with possession of meth, possession of steroids, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  McCrary was charged with possession of steroids, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All eight men were transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and booked. Their bonds are pending.
