PINEVILLE — Airline scored more points Friday night than the Vikings’ combined total for their previous three District 1-5A football games in a 28-6 romp past Pineville.

Now 5-2 for the season, Airline evened its district record at 2-2 with what coach Mike Greene called “our most complete game this year.”

Airline’s only higher point total this season was a 42-18 win over Class 3A Booker T. Washington in the third week.
Reggie Jackson had 101 yards rushing and Albert Robinson rolled up 148 yards rushing to lead the Vikings.

Friday night, the Vikings play host to a Ouachita team that is coming off a 40-3 victory over Byrd. Airline then wraps up its regular-season schedule against Captain Shreve and Southwood.

The Airline defense has played well throughout the season, and turned in another solid permance Friday night.

DeAngelo Brooks, Quintero Brooks, Blake Frederick, Dalton Elliot, Jeremy Owens, Bobby Williams, Laquin Williams, Dominic Harris and Clayton Caraway were defensive standouts for the Vikings.

Airline coach Mike Greene also praised the offensive line play of Luiz Vasquez, Ian Martin, Brian Davis, Ethan Siezmore, Robbie Jameson, Caraway and Frederick.

Sophomore quarterback John David Goodwin excelled in backing up starter Connor Nichols in the fourth quarter.

“Our special teams also played real well,” said Greene. “It was a good team effort in all phases of the game.”
