Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Coleman Powell, 71, will be held Friday, Nov. 28, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Dewey Bass officiating.  Interment will follow in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill.

Visitation will be held today, November 26, at 5 p.m.

Mrs. Powell was born Nov. 20, 1938, in Sarepta, to William Sullivan and Vera Stella King Coleman and passed away Nov. 24, 2009, in Springhill. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Sherman Lee Powell of Springhill; daughter, Cheryl Anglin and husband, Lonnie of Haughton; sisters, Estelle McDonald of Springhill, Louise Bandy of Plain Dealing, Pauline Brazell of Lubbock, Texas and Josephine Coile of Springhill; brothers, William Marion Coleman of Ft. Worth, Texas and Alvin Coleman of Jacksonville, Texas; grandchildren, Paula Brewton, Hollie Prister and Kari Anglin; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her son, David Lee Powell in 1979.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.
