Elm Grove man charged with assault, battery on Christmas Eve

An Elm Grove man was arrested late Christmas Eve night for aggravated assault, domestic abuse battery, and simple battery.

According to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, Mack Henry Feaster, 60, of the 100 block of Thomas Jones Road, was playing a card game with family and friends when he began to get loud and started pushing people. The victims started to leave the residence because they knew Feaster was going to get a weapon. They exited the front door, and Feaster opened it with a pistol in his hand. He began waving it around and told them that they should leave or else he would shoot them. The victim then notified the sheriff’s office.

Feaster was also intoxicated during the altercation. He had slurred speech, could not stand on his own and vomited in the deputy’s patrol car en route to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility.

Feaster was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault, one count of domestic abuse battery, and three counts of simple battery. His bond is set at $9500.

Parish Tax Payments Due Dec. 31

The Bossier Parish tax payment deadline is December 31, and the sheriff’s offices will be open on New Year’s Eve for the convenience of our citizens, said Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen.

If you are mailing your payment, send it to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, Property Tax Department at P.O. Box 850, Benton, LA 71006. As long as your payment is postmarked December 31st or before, you will not incur any late fees.

Walk-ins are encouraged to go to the Bossier Sheriff's Substations located in Bossier City at 2510 Viking Drive and in Benton at 7076 La. Highway 3.  Both will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All locations will be open Monday through Friday, except for New Year’s Day. As a walk-in, you can pay with Mastercard, Visa, check or cash.  There will be a surcharge for credit card transactions.

To pay online, visit www.bossiersheriff.com and click on the “Pay Property Taxes” tab at the top right of your screen. Find your property and select if you would like to pay with credit card or electronic check. Only Visa or Mastercard will be accepted for credit card payments. A surcharge applies to both electronic check and credit card transactions.
