Funeral services for James E. McMichael will be held today, Dec. 31, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church in Minden. Officiating will be the Rev. Richard Methvin and the Rev. Jared Conatser. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden. Family received friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 30, 2009 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Minden.

James was born March 6, 1932 in Shreveport and entered into rest December 29, 2009 in Minden. James was a teacher and coach in the Minden school system, director of several Northwest Louisiana Trade Schools and employment director for LAAP for a number of years. He was a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, the Minden Civitans, and the Minden Lions Club.
His brothers, Claude E. McMichael, Jr., the Rev. Ralph McMichael, Kenneth B. McMichael, and daughter JoAnne Fletcher preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Willene McMichael of Minden; daughters, Judy Bass and husband, David, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. and Kay Day and husband, Mike, of Minden; brother, Rodney McMichael and wife, Carolyn, of Minden; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Randy McMichael, Charles Strong, Jim Swanner, Jeff Conatser, Jared Conatser, and Lonnie Simpson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Gamaliel Escribano.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 Park Hwy, Minden.
