Kayle Sumar Chanler of Sibley and Jared Neven Hooter of Minden announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage, to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at First Pentecostal Church of Minden. A reception in honor of the couple will immediately follow.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Frankie and Mona Chanler of Sibley. She is the granddaughter of Margie Huddleston of Natchitoches, Dean Huddleston of Chappell Hill, Texas and Vernon and Verna Chanler of Minden.

The future bride will graduate Lakeside High School in May 2010. She intends to further her education in the medical field at Louisiana Tech University.

The prospective groom is the son of Neven and Judi Hooter of Minden. He is the grandson of the Rev. and Mrs. Gerald Trammell of Minden, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Hooter of Springhill and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Wisinger of Haughton.

The future groom is a 2007 graduate of Minden High School. He is currently a full-time nursing student at Northwest Votech of Minden and is slated to graduate in December 2010.
