Virginia Walters King, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010. Virginia was a resident of Haughton and former resident of Bogalusa and a member of Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Virginia was very active in her church and taught Sunday School and Ladies Auxiliary. Virginia loved music but her true passion was taking care of others. Funeral service for Virginia Walters King will be held Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jason Hebert officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 19 from 5-8 p.m. at Hill Crest Funeral Home. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Dewey and Hazel Walters. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, A.W. King; daughters, Pam Tarpley Corn and husband Steve, and Jackie Pruett and husband Steve; grandchildren: Lissa Tarpley and fiancé Blake Gore, Courtney Robbins and husband Jeremy, Scott Pruett and wife Dena, and Stephanie Pruett; sister Carol Holloway, aunt Tot Warner, and numerous nieces and nephews.
