Parish wide zoning is coming, and according to one Police Juror, there's nothing we can do about it. I thought we lived in a Democratic society. What happened to the Vote? With Parish wide zoning, we will loose control of our land and homes to a governing body that doesn't have our interest at heart.

If you've ever been in the Police Jury Chambers, there's a sign that reads, "Of the people, by the people and for the people". This sign should be removed, as the Police Jury doesn't seem to care about nor are they listening to what "the people" of the Parish want.

It appears the Police Jury would like to turn Bossier Parish into a Gated Community. Well, if we all wanted to live in a gated community, where there are restrictions on the style of out buildings you can build, what type of trees you can plant, the color scheme of the flowers around those trees and regulations on lawn ornaments, (oh my gosh, not those ugly pink flamingos), WE WOULD HAVE MOVED INTO A GATED COMMUNITY IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!!!!

The Police Jury says they will make the zoning as restrictive or as unrestrictive as WE want it. I find that hard to believe. WE are telling them now, WE don't want Parish wide zoning and they are not listening to us. Why in the world would they listen to us after they've accomplished their agenda of Parish wide zoning? Why any zoning at all?

Those of us who live out here in the county live here for a reason. We don't want to live in the city! More Government intrusion is not the answer to any problem it only makes the problem worse.

WE THE PEOPLE want to vote on this Parish wide zoning, and not let a few Politicians tell us what will and what will not be. Call the Police Jury and let them know how you feel.
