I have always been amazed and grateful for people with vision, whether it be in church work or business. As I drive on any given day in South Bossier City, I might see one of the finest and most successful event centers in the country (Century-Tel). I might see a beautiful new high school which does more than educate youth in “book learning.” I see Bellaire Baptist Church’s new southern campus, and I see the new Jamestown apartments. I drive with pleasure on the Teague Parkway.
Each of these centers of life was once a patch of ground just waiting for planting. Men and women of vision can see something that most of the rest of us cannot see… at least at first. I am sure there were opponents and impediments to each of the projects and their developers. But South Bossier is better with them. There are problems to be resolved in any great effort. I urge all involved to resolve any access issues preventing development of Walker Place, so that we in South Bossier can reap the benefits of jobs, housing, shopping, dining and more. Let the visionaries do what they do best, for we have seen time and time again, our world would be less alive without them. David Melville Pastor, Fellowship United Methodist Church Bossier City, La.
