A Shreveport man was arrested Sunday morning for attempted third-degree feticide, domestic abuse battery/strangulation, false imprisonment and driving under suspension. According to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, Gregory Jay Hill, Jr., 33, of the 6000 block of Kirsten Lane, was taken into custody after Bossier Sheriff’s deputies responded to a family trouble/panic alarm call. Upon arrival, deputies saw Hill leaving the scene southbound on Parkridge Drive and stopped him.
During an investigation, the victim, Hill’s seven-months pregnant girlfriend, told deputies Hill became angry after she received a phone call and he accused her of “having another man.” He allegedly struck her in the face and body, drug her around her bedroom by both her hair and ankles, struck her head against a wall, struck her in the head with a book and choked her. He reportedly refused to let her leave her bedroom or use a telephone for approximately an hour before she escaped and activated her panic alarm, which notified 9-1-1. Prior to her escape, Hill repeatedly pushed his elbow into her stomach as she screamed, “Stop, you’ll kill my baby!” The victim displayed multiple injuries, including abrasions to her leg, neck and lower lip. She complained of intense “side pain” and was transported to Willis Knighton Pierrement. At the hospital, her scalp was found to be bleeding. She told deputies Hill had been to a gynecological appointment with her and knew she was pregnant. According to her, Hill forced his elbow into her stomach “more times than she can count.” Hill was transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and booked. His bond was set at $101,400. Fraudulent check Three Shreveport residents attempted to cash a fraudulent check at a business in Haughton and were in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. According to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, Farrah Markham Calkins, 33, of the 200 block of Carrolton Ave., Clayton D. Cole, 33, of the 3400 block of Driftwood, and Jeffery Rose, 22, of the 9200 block of Blom Blvd., were all together when an attempt to cash a fraudulent check was made on Valentine’s Day. The occurrence was captured on video. The manager of the business got the vehicle description and watched to see what direction they were traveling. He then contacted the Bossier Sheriff’s Office with the information. When deputies located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, Calkins was driving. A check of her license revealed that she was driving under suspension. Consent to search the vehicle was given. Cocaine residue was found in the car, along with drug paraphernalia. Cole and Calkins both denied attempting to cash the fraudulent check. Post Miranda, Rose admitted to possession of the check and to cocaine usage. The checkbook with the remaining checks was also found in the car. The owner of the checkbook was contacted and stated that they had not given the checkbook to any of the three people arrested. All three were arrested and booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility. Calkins was charged with access device fraud, driving under suspension, possession of schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond is set at $15,900. Cole and Rose were charged with access device fraud, possession of schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia. Their bonds are set at $15,500. More charges are possible. Views: 1052
