Shreveport Police detectives following up on leads have arrested a second suspect in connection with the case of a little girl who has been missing since Saturday afternoon and Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for any information that leads authorities to her.

According to Bill Goodin, Shreveport Police Department public information officer, 12-year-old Amber White was last seen around 3 p.m. on Saturday near her home in the 6900 block of Buncombe Road. Her parents notified police after she had not returned home from a trip to the neighborhood pool. Amber is a white female, five feet nine inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds. She has brown eyes and reddish-blonde hair and was last seen wearing a green “Soulja Boy” t-shirt, cut off blue jean shorts, and a navy blue, white and brown crop jacket.

Detectives got a tip through the Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers Monday morning that two witnesses observed a girl matching Amber’s description get into a dark blue 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass bearing Louisiana license plate “SZS307” Saturday afternoon there in the 6900 block of Buncombe Road. The witnesses advised a black male subject was driving the car. Detectives were able to track the car down and ultimately located it in a parking lot in the 400 block of Milam Street in downtown Shreveport. The vehicle was subsequently impounded by investigators.

The male teenager detectives believe was driving that car Saturday afternoon has been arrested and was interviewed to determine exactly what happened and where Amber White is. Nineteen year old Brandon Player, of the 6300 block of W. 70th Street in Shreveport, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Detectives stress Player may face other charges.

Information gathered as part of their ongoing investigation led detectives to a home in the 1500 block of Lash Street where they believe Brandon Player may have taken Amber White. While at the residence on Lash Street, detectives detained a male suspect identified as 25 year old Henry E. Lee and subsequently transported him to the Shreveport Police Complex for questioning.

Following that interview, investigators have charged Henry E. Lee with one count of aggravated kidnapping of a child. Aggravated kidnapping of a child is defined by Louisiana Revised Statutes as, “The unauthorized taking, enticing, or decoying away and removing from a location for an unlawful purpose by any person other than a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian of a child under the age of thirteen years with the intent to secret the child from his parent or legal guardian.” Henry E. Lee, of the 1500 block of Lash Street in Shreveport, has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail.

Investigators also received information that Amber may have changed clothes and is possibly wearing a black tank top and grey and burgundy plaid pajama bottoms, however, they are not ruling out the possibility she is still wearing the clothes named in the original description. Detectives are in contact with Amber’s parents and are following up on every possible lead as they move forward in their investigation to find Amber and bring her back home.

Anyone who has any information regarding Amber White or her whereabouts is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective Lindsey Bonner at (318) 673-7020 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373. Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 reward for any information that leads officers to Amber White.
