Battle Wings end first AFL season against Dallas The Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings and Dallas Vigilantes wrap up their first Arena Football League season at the CenturyTel Center Saturday night. The Battle Wings are hoping to avoid the fourth 3-13 season in the 10-year history of the franchise, while the Vigilantes are hoping to avoid the worst record in the AFL this season.
The Battle Wings carry a 3-12 record into the game. Their only victory since the first two games of the season was a 70-69 victory over the Vigilantes in Dallas, which was decided on a two-point conversion pass after scoring a touchdown as the final second ticked off the scoreboard clock. The Vigilantes are 2-13, sharing last place in AFL standings with the Utah Blaze, whose only two victories were against the Battle Wings and Vigilantes. Utah travels to the Alabama Vipers for its final game Saturday. Injuries, especially at the quarterback position, have plagued the Battle Wings throughout the season as five quarterbacks have seen action. Views: 325
