A Haughton man has been arrested for illegal possession of stolen things. According to the Bossier Sheriff’s Office, Gill Belcher, III, 38, of the 2600 block of Horacek, was already being held in the Bossier Maximum Security Facility on other charges when he was arrested on the additional charge.
He was originally stopped and arrested on July 17, 2010, for switched plates, open container, improper lane usage, expired driver’s license and no insurance. The illegal possession of stolen things charge was added Tuesday. Bossier Sheriff’s investigators determined that the plates on his vehicle when he was stopped earlier this month were stolen from a 1996 Chevy Lumina and reported on July 26, 2010. The vehicle had been parked on Busby Road, near Horacek Road, where Belcher lives. It has not been determined when the plates were actually stolen. When investigators interviewed him, Belcher admitted he was driving his car with the stolen tags. He said he bought the car from a Hispanic male at Louisiana Downs, but he could not name the Hispanic male. Belcher’s bond has been set at $1,800. Views: 312
