Katy Perry’s opening act this fall will be this week’s back porch musical guest at the Farm in Minden.

According to Chairman Leslie Coyle, Ben Jenkins will perform this  Saturday during Cultural Crossroads’ Back Porch Summer Music Series.

Ben Jenkins, a Shongaloo alumni and rising rock star will be performing  from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Farm.

Ben’s genre of music includes rock and pop. “His delivery style is crisp and clean,” says Julie Vogel, president of Cultural Crossroads. “Ben performed during our recent Pearl Fest outdoor music festival and wowed the crowd with some of his original work.”

Ben began digging deeper into his love for music during his senior year at Shongaloo.

He began writing and performing his original music at home and around northeast Louisiana.  After a couple of major ups and downs in his journey, he found himself in Nashville. After catching the eyes, ears of several major labels, Ben’s career in music has taken off. He currently finished his first full production album which is to be released under Sony Red.

Cultural Crossroads is proud to bring Ben Jenkins back to the Farm for another back porch performance.

Admission to the Farm is $5. Tables and chairs will be provided but for the best seat in the house, you might want to bring your favorite lawn chair. Ice chests will be allowed. Some concessions will be available for sale.  For more information about Cultural Crossroads or the Farm, visit their website at www.artsinminden.com.
