SPRINGHILL —Springhill head coach Joey Pesses is ready for Monday morning. That’s when he and his Lumberjack football team heads back on the practice field. “The coaches and the players are ready to go,” Pesses said. “The kids have done a good job of conditioning during the summer and we’re just going to continue on with that. We’ll also work in some drills with that.”
The Lumberjacks will hit the field at 9 a.m. Monday morning and will go through five days of heat acclimation. “After that, we can go helmets and shoulder pads,” Pesses said. “Then I think we’ll go full pads on that next Thursday.” Pesses was pleased with the work his team did this summer. “The kids did a real good job in the weight room and with conditioning,” he said. “I’ve been real pleased with them as a group, and a few kids have pushed themselves harder than I anticipated, which is always nice. We’re just ready to go.” Views: 324
