Funeral services for Albert Stovall, 84, of Minden, will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Valley Spring Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, with Pastor Ray D. Jiles officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held today, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Benevolent Funeral Home.

Albert Stovall was born July 11, 1926 in Minden to Mr. Tillman Stovall, Sr. and Mrs. Arnado Powell Stovall. He died July 22, 2010 in Minden. His hope in Christ was confessed at Valley Spring Baptist Church at an early age. He attended school in the Webster Parish Public School System. He was employed for a major production company for several years. He served in the United States Army/Air Corp and he received an Honorable Discharge. In Holy matrimony, he united with Miss Rosie L. Clark.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Roy Lee Stovall; two brothers, Henry Stovall and Tillman Stovall, Jr.; one aunt; and two uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosie Clark Stovall, of Minden; one son, Albert Ray Stovall, of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Estelle S. McCullough, of Dallas; a “Special” caretaker, Jimmy Stovall (nephew), of Minden; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Johnny Gill, Jr., Arthur Gil, James T. Gill, George Gill, Elijah Loud and Larry Brooks.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews.

We are sincerely grateful for all of your kindness shown to us during the illness and the departure of our “Loved One.” Special “Thanks” to Minden Medical Center, Meadow Nursing Home/Rehabilitation Center, Life Path Hospice, of Shreveport, Minister Victor Carter and the staff of Benevolent Funeral Home, Pastor Ray D. Jiles, Valley Spring Baptist Church family and all of the surrounding areas for your prayers and support.  — The family of Brother Albert Stovall.
