Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Richard Norman, 81, of Sibley, will be held at 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at Hill Crest Chapel with Brother Kenny Shephard officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park Haughton.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 p.m., today, June 18, at Hill Crest Funeral Home.
Mr. Norman was born on October 5, 1925, in Frierson, and died June 14, at his home in Sibley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mary Norman; daughter, Sherry Joyce Norman Baudat; two sons-in-law; six brother; and six sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maxine Brown Norman; three daughters, Lee Conway of Sibley, Jo Schomberg and husband Earl of Minden and Marilyn Tubbs and husband Stan of Dixie Inn; four grandchildren, John and Sherry McCann, Terry and Dawn Walls, Billie and Thad Emanuel and Beau and Adana Norman; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by two sisters, Theresa Frantom and husband J.T. of Vivian and Barbara Davis of Roanoke, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his daughter, Lee Conway, and Terry Walls, Earl Schomberg, John MCCann, Beau Norman, Stan Tubbs, Paul Boyd, Thad Emmanuel and Evan McFarland.
