My Pastry Chef’s tasty cake creations featured in People magazine A local Bossier City business recently received national recognition when their product was part of a layout in People Magazine. My Pastry Chef, owned by Ron and Lora Silva and Gina Haley, was contacted by People Magazine and asked to submit a picture of one of their recently created cakes for consideration for the special wedding edition of the magazine.
Several other bakeries from Louisiana were also contacted, but My Pastry Chef’s cake, created for the wedding of Eme Wrenn and Dustin Ezernack, was chosen to represent Louisiana in the spread that featured a cake from every state. The magazine came out on the 15 of June, and is still available for purchase.
My Pastry Chef is operated by Silva and her daughter, Gina Haley, and have been in business for 12 years, making custom cakes for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and much more. Silva said they take much pride in offering a quality product to their customers, which includes a freshly baked cake specially decorated for any occasion. Both Silva and Haley said they are delighted with the recognition, and Haley said they have even been contacted by representatives from ABC’s Wife Swap show, asking for names of customers who might like to appear on the show. Haley said producers told her bakeries attract the type of people thy like to have on their show. If one of the families they submit is chosen, that family will receive $20,000 and My Pastry Chef will receive $1,000. Also, Silva was asked to submit photos for In-Style Magazine, so lots of recognition could come from being in People Magazine.
